Keynote speaker: Dr. Philippe Coussot
Dr. Philippe Coussot is a senior researcher in the Rheophysics and Porous Media department of Laboratoire Navier (Univ. Gustave Eiffel – CNRS – Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées). His research focuses on the rheology of pastes and suspensions such as cement and clays, and on transfers (drying, imbibition, colloid transport) in porous media, using advanced imaging techniques like NMR and MRI. He has authored influential books, including “Mudflow Rheology and Dynamics” (Balkema, 1997), and “Rheometry of pastes, suspensions and granular materials” (Wiley, 2005), and received the CNRS Silver Medal (2015), the Weissenberg Award from the European Society of Rheology (2017), and the Medal for Porous Media Research from Interpore (2023). In 2023, he was awarded an ERC Advanced Grant for research on the hygrothermal behavior of bio-based construction and textile materials.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Mariana Correia
Dr. Mariana Correia holds a PhD in World Heritage Conservation from Oxford Brookes University, a postgraduate diploma in Earthen Architecture from CRAterre-ENSAG, and a Master’s & Degree in Architecture from Lisbon University. She leads the Architecture and Multimedia Gallaecia Department at Portucalense University, where she teaches courses on conservation and climate change adaptation. She is a World Heritage consultant, conducting missions across multiple continents and instructing courses for UNESCO and the Advisory Bodies. Dr. Correia has authored two books, co-edited 22 others, and published over 200 chapters and papers. She was Coordinator of PROTERRA Iberian Network, and President of ICOMOS-ISCEAH. Presently, she coordinates the ISCEAH Task-force preparing a Doctrinal Charter for the Conservation of Earthen Architectural Heritage. In 2017, she was honored with the European Prize of Architectural Heritage Intervention.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Christof Ziegert
Prof. Dr. Christof Ziegert is Managing Director at ZRS Ingenieure, specializing in earth building, technical assessment, and laboratory research. He chairs the Earth Building Standards Committee at the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), where he has authored all relevant draft standards. Dr. Ziegert serves as an accredited consulting engineer and expert in damage assessment of earthen structures, is a member of the expert committee for Masonry at the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt), and was a board member of Dachverband Lehm e.V. (2003–2023). He actively participates in ICOMOS, contributing significantly to international heritage preservation.
